Winery Biblia Chora

Winery Biblia Chora is located at the foothills of Mount Pangeon in Kokkinochori and was established in 1998 by Vassilis Tsaktsarlis and Vangelis Gerovassiliou. What started off as a small, organic vineyard has grown into a 48-hectare estate with a fully equipped, high standard winemaking facility.

The winemaking in the area dates back to the Phoenician merchants and travellers who brought a variety of vine known as Biblia as well as their winemaking expertise. The ancient Greeks continued to cultivate using their techniques and vine variety and eventually the region became known as the Biblia Chora winemaking center. It is thanks to the cooling Aegean breezes and the quality of the rocky soil, that such premium wine can be produced.

Visitors can tour the estate and appreciate the majestic and untouched natural beauty that surrounds it, walk through the vineyards, learn about the region’s history, observe modern day organic cultivation practices and of course, enjoy some wine-tasting.

Winery Biblia Chora is a true mixture of tradition and expertise. An extraordinary amount of special care and efforts go into producing some of Greece’s most exceptional wine whilst maintaining the area’s authenticity.
