Winery Oenogenesis is a family run business, which began in 2007, by Bakis Tsalkos, his wife; Dominique Fontevielle-Petridies and now their son; Alexandre Taslkos. Over the past 12 years they have been committed to producing wines of the highest quality.
The winery is a 4000 square meter castle house inspired by authentic Macedonian buildings. It overlooks the breathtaking view of the Pangeo Mountain range with Falakro mountain as its backdrop. The incorporation of both stone and wood in its design exudes elegance and sophistication, much like the wine they produce. The vineyards extend over 300 acres and their cultivation follows organic farming standards with a firm respect for the environment, flora and fauna of the region.
The Greek varieties grown are: Asyrtiko, Malagousia, Xinomavro and Moschato. The international varieties grown are: Sauvignon Blanc, Semillion, Ugni Blanc, Viogner, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. Visitors are able to tour the facilities all year long to witness a modern day wine making process as well as sample some of their exquisite wines.
